Claim to fame: Born in Bloemfontein, South-Africa on the 26th October 1971 and lived there unitl the age of three when my parents decided Johannesburg is where we can live and grow up tough. Primary school, not much to tell besides all the hidings I got for never doing my home work. High School, pretty much as primary school except for the hidings which became more frequent for no apparent reason as far as I was concerned. Luckilly I passed and matriculated in 1989 and moved on to study for an electrical engineer which bored me after six months and started an underpaid job as tele sales representative. Next 9 years saw me doing various jobs from transport to sales until I started my own sole trading business in March 1999. This how ever has been passed on to my younger brother when I decided to travel through the UK and Europe on a 2 year visa which pretty much got me where I am today. STUCK in LONDON!!!!
I became like "enlightened" one dark winter's day and decided to start studying again at the age of 28 and enrolled in courses at Westminster University. Six months later and three modules behind me, my current boss realized that the person stuffing envelopes and carrying boxes can do more than what he bargained for and gave me an oppurtinity to proof myself in the IT department in which I astonished myself and is still currently sponsored at the same company - lovely innit! ( I learned some new lingo as well!).
This last two years has seen me doing rockclimbing, snowboarding, surfing and part time working as an ice steward ar=t the Queensbowl Rink in Bayswater.
I have made more best friends here in 2 years compared to what I made back home in 28 years. I cherish each friend in their own special way and wish them the best of luck for the future! May all our dreams come true and I quote from my little pocket yearly planner,

"The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it - RALPH WALDO EMERSON"
So keep on visiting and let the good times roll!!

Marcl
Howzat! My name is Marcl. I come from Durbanville in Cape Town, a nice area also known for Swartland Wine Cellars. Mmmm....Wine. I grew up in Stikland, Bellville, and went to Labiance Primary School. In 1989 we moved to Kenridge in Durbanville, and I then went to DF Malan High School where I matriculated in 1994. After School (1995) I went on to the Cape Technicon to study Building, but realised that I did not wish to persue a career in the Building Industry. After that i worked for a couple of years and then decided to go and study Computer Programming at Durbanville College where I met Jaco and Pierre. Durbanville College was a "jol" socialy speaking. Our favourite party places included Kallabas, Stones, Springfields, Dockside and Fargo's (Cheap alcohol).
In March 2000 and left for London where I moved into a flat with Dirk, and a few weeks later Jaco moved in as well and we all became good friends. in February 2001 we went snowboarding and on return I moved into Chobham Road in Stratford, which used to be an old pub. Here I met Leon, Melinda,Erick, Heloise, Natasha, Dirkie, Hanlie, Koos, Clement, Toni, Tommy, Tanya, Vernon, Craig and Carolina. Some of these are my enemies, I'll rather not name them/her.
Some of my favourite drinking places include Backpackers, The Eagle, Walkabout, Bad Bob's, Queen Mary, Slug & Lettuce, and Edward's. Some of my favourite clubs that I've been to were The Fridge, Brixton Academy, The Colloseum, Camden Palace, Turnmills, The Mean Fidler (Solid Sunday), Mass, Ministry of Sound, Home and Equinox.
I am going back to South Africa in March 2002 to start studying in July.
Well that's me! Cheers!

Pierr
The Cape of Good Hope are my home. As some say the Cape of winds, but that suits me just fine. This city is one of the Sacra's (Energy point) and therefore a favorite destination.
Some background. I was born in Wynberg, Cape Town. At the age of five we moved up to Pretoria. From there my alternative Afrikaans view on life. I studied at Tukkies and moved down to Cape Town in 1998 for further studies in computer science and of course windsurfing my Zen.
I have loads of interests. At this stage the study of infrasound and how this was used in ancient times by the druids. I love physics with a passion because of my physics professor. There are much more...
Currently I'm spending time in London giving the financial institutions support on their Tandem front-end systems. We are hosted in Britain's financial hub at Bacs.
I'm living in a flat in Stanmore. There is no "love in my life" at this time but I made some lovely friends, which I treasure. I know I won't make Britain my home but it's a comfortable gateway to the rest of the world and rich in history.

Shine on....

Shaun
"Hi there! My name is Shaun and I am from Johannesburg, South Africa. I recently came to London for some international exposure and am currently working for a Public Relations Company. I have great ambitions of traveling to different continents one day and I hope my life takes unpredictable routes with me as it has done in the past
My only goal in life is to make the best of opportunities that come my way and to see people for more than what they really are. I feel that I have succeeded for the age I am and couldn't have done it with the wonderful support from my family, my friends and my girlfriend, which I dearly love. I believe that a person is capable of doing anything they put their mind to. Luckily I have a great baking system which always pushes me that extra mile and times when I actually turn around to see where I am standing, then only I realize how far I've come.
Those are the times when a person should pull the others forward so that you could get pushed again. From a profile look
I have a great love for Contemporary Art as well as Computer Science. I have a hunger for Rock / South African Rock / Metal / Rap Metal and of course Punk! My best memories are the ones I made whilst in school and the people I made them with. One thing I regret in life is not taking enough chances, because only now I've learnt where you get when taking chances and not smiling enough. Future plans are still pending but I know that I want to be extremely happy in my work and spend more time with the people I love. Thank you all that ever walked a road with me in my life "

"fine again"
